Forward Into To ’22, Episode 2 – Guy Hatton: Winter (2021)

Episode 2 of the move Forward Into ‘22 is the new single from Guy Hatton, “Winter”. This is something of a special release, bringing together the old and the new.

“Winter” was originally written by Guy for his band Climate around 1984 or 1985. During its first rehearsal run-throughs, vocalist Pete Slater wrote a set of lyrics and presented them to the band, whereupon they were enthusiastically adopted. “Winter” became a staple of Climate’s live performances, and was recorded in 1985 for a limited-run cassette EP entitled “Dancing On The Fine Line”. The recording was made in the band’s rehearsal facility, to a 4-track TEAC tape machine.

Recently, the 4-track master has resurfaced and been transferred to 24-bit digital – making it possible not just to release a new instrumental version, but also a vocal mix incorporating Pete Slater’s original vocal, and the full 1985 version, remixed and remastered.

1985 version:
